Gods of Olympus
In Greek mythology, Hermaphroditus is the son of Aphrodite (goddess of love) and Hermes (messenger of the gods). He inherited beauty from his parents and had features of both sexes.
His siblings were Eunomia, Peithó and Rhodes. Other sources also mention Tyche and Priapose. Others speak of Erotheus.
The nymph Salmakis fell in love with him. Hermaphroditus rejected her. But according to myth, the nymph begged the gods to let her mingle with him forever. Her wish came true - in the spring in which she lived.
