Peithó

In Greek mythology, Peithó is the goddess of flattering persuasion, flattery and seduction. She was the daughter of the Titaness Thetis and her brother Okeanos. She was also the handmaiden of the goddess of love, Aphrodite, and a companion of the Muses.

Her siblings were Hermaphroditus, Eunomia and Rhodes. Other sources also mention Tyche and Priapose. Others speak of Erotheus.

She helped people gain love and success. For example, she helped the Trojan prince Paridus persuade the beautiful Helen to leave her husband (Meneláos) and go with Paridus to Troy.

She even had her own altar in the temple of the goddess Aphrodite in Athens.
