Greek philosophers
Aedesia is one of the Greek philosophers of the Neo-Platonic school. She came from Alexandria.
Aedesia was admired for her beauty and virtues. After the death of her husband, she began to devote herself fully to raising her sons Ammonius and Heliodorus. She accompanied them to Athens, where they both began their studies. There she was received with respect by the Athenian philosophers (especially Proclus).
At her funeral, the philosopher Damaskios spoke heametric verses.
