Greek philosophers
Apollodorus of Athens was a Greek philosopher, historian and grammarian. Born in 185 BC, he was a pupil of the philosopher Diogenes of Seleucia and the grammarian Aristarchus of Samothrace. He died in 120 BC.
In his more obscure work, the Chronicle (Χρονικά), Apollodorus describes the history of Greece from the Trojan War to 143 BC. The content is based on the work of Eratosthenes of Cyrene and, interestingly, is written in verse.
Another well-known work of Apollodorus is On the Gods (Περὶ θεῶν), which is still one of the main sources of information on the whole of ancient Greek mythology.
However, no other works by Apollodorus have survived.
