Greek philosophers
Hecaton of Rhodes was a Greek philosopher who was born about 160 BC on the island of Rhodes and died in 90 BC. He was one of the representatives of Middle Stoicism.
Little is known about the life of Hecaton of Rhodes. He was supposed to have been a pupil of the Stoic philosopher Panaitius. He worked in Rome. He was one of the most famous representatives of Stoic philosophy in his time.
Diogenes Laertios mentions him in his book Lives, Opinions and Sayings of Famous Philosophers.
