Chryssi Akti Beach, also known as Golden Beach or Golden Shore, is located on the southern coast of Kos, in a long sandy bay about 10 km from the popular resort of Kefalos. It is an area of several smaller and quieter beaches, almost one on top of the other, with Chryssi Akti beach at the eastern end.

The surface of Chryssi Akti is made up of fine golden sand, which has earned the beach the name "Golden Beach". This sand, together with the calm waters of the Aegean Sea, provides pleasant conditions for sunbathing and swimming. The sea here is crystal clear and has a shallow entrance, but in some places the edge of the beach is formed by large flat stones or rocks, so more caution is in order.

Chryssi Akti beach is purely natural, without tourist facilities, surrounded by lush vegetation and protected by a rocky hill, which contributes to its atmosphere of a very quiet, authentic, almost deserted beach. Thus, Chryssi Akti is often targeted by visitors for these qualities, and is sometimes designated as a nudist beach, although it is not officially listed as a nudist beach. However, it is not completely cut off from tourist services, and it is easy to walk along the coast to the neighbouring Exotic or Magic beaches, which are only a short walk away and already have basic tourist facilities.

Chryssi Akti Beach is accessible by car, but you can't drive all the way down to the coast, the road ends at the top of the hill. The road down is well-trodden and passable with care. The other way to get to the beach is to drive to the neighbouring Exotic Beach. The latter has parking right by the beach and is about 600m away from Chryssi Akti by a comfortable walk along the coast.

Chryssi Akti is situated at the turn-off from the main road connecting the main town of Kos and the resort of Kefalos. From the main road there are several branches leading to the south coast, marked by the names of the beaches - from west to east there are Agios Stefanos, Camel, Paradise, Lagades, Markos, Psilos Gremos, Magic, Exotic and Chryssi Akti (Golden Beach).
