Kefalos Beach is located on the southwest coast of Kos, in a picturesque bay near the eponymous resort of Kefalos. The surface of Kefalos beach is made up of a mixture of fine sand and small pebbles, ensuring a comfortable entrance to the clear and calm sea.

The water here is clear, ideal for swimming, snorkelling and other water activities. The gradually sloping bottom makes the beach suitable for families with children, and the surrounding rocks also protect the beach against the wind. The sea in Kefalos Bay is cooler than in other parts of Kos, but it is also rich in underwater life, and you can see schools of small fish while swimming.

Tourist facilities include sunbeds and umbrellas, and local operators offer a range of water sports. The beach is quiet, uncrowded and provides plenty of space to relax. Kefalos Beach is surrounded by a large amount of greenery, so visitors can also take advantage of the natural shade of the local vegetation. Along the seafront there are plenty of tavernas offering fish specialties and cafes with beautiful sea views. There are also several shops nearby where you can buy souvenirs or basic beach supplies.

An interesting point of interest nearby is the islet of Kastri, which lies just a short distance from the beach and is easily accessible by boat or pedal boat.

The beach is easily accessible, but due to the mountainous coastline, most of the access roads to the bay are very steep. Kefalos Bay, with its most famous beaches of Kamari, Kefalos, Kampos and Agios Stefanos, is one of the most photographed places on Kos.
