The beautiful sandy beach of Tigaki is located in the northern part of the Greek island of Kos, about 11 km west of the main town. Tigaki boasts the distinction of being the longest beach on the island of Kos.
Tigaki Beach stretches for almost 10 km on the northern coast of Kos, making it one of the longest and most popular beaches on the island. It has been awarded the EU Blue Flag several times for its cleanliness and facilities. The beach is covered with fine white sand and surrounded by crystal clear sea. The entrance to the sea in this area is very gentle, and therefore suitable for families with smaller children. There are also lifeguards to supervise visitors.
The beach is part of the eponymous resort of Tigaki and is well-equipped with tourist facilities, where visitors can rent sun loungers and umbrellas or try some of the water sports. Thanks to the good weather conditions, the area is frequented by windsurfing and sailing enthusiasts, and lessons with trained instructors are available. There are several tavernas offering tasty Greek food in close proximity to the beach.
Tigaki Beach is a fairly busy beach, but quieter spots can be found. The central part of Tigaki Beach, adjacent to the local holiday resort, is lively and very well organised, but if you walk eastwards along the coast you will come to an unorganised part of the beach, quieter and more private.
Tigaki Beach is therefore ideal for those looking for a combination of relaxation on the beach and opportunities for activity. In addition to the water sports on offer, we recommend trying out cycling, the area is relatively flat and equipped with cycle paths. Tigaki beach is easily accessible.
