The organised pebble beach of Kavourakia is located in the northeastern part of the Greek island of Rhodes, about 6 km south of the capital city.
Kavourakia Beach is located in a bay on the northeast coast of Rhodes, as part of the popular seaside resort of Kalithea. Kavourakia is a distinctive and memorable beach at first sight, as it is partly made up of a small fishing harbour and on the other side of the beach a paved pier.
The beach is about 500 m long and mostly pebbly. As far as the sea entrance is concerned, there is a lot of variety. The most comfortable way is via a small stretch of beach that is mostly sandy and with a gradual entry into the water. However, on most of the beach you enter the sea over pebbles and rocky bottoms, so steps have been built for convenience, leading down from the pier into deeper water. On the other hand, there is a really beautifully clean sea, said to be the cleanest in the area. We therefore recommend you to pack also your diving goggles.
Kavourakia belongs to the organised beaches, with sunbeds and umbrellas, beach showers and sanitary facilities available to tourists. There are taverns close to the beach, specialising mainly in dishes made from fresh sea catch supplied by local fishermen.
