The sandy and pebbly, partially organised beach of Kritika is located in the northwestern part of the Greek island of Rhodes, about 3 km east of the capital city.
Kritika Beach got its name from the adjacent village of Kritika, which is very small, quiet and often already considered a suburb of the capital city of Rhodes. The village of Kritika consists mostly of small houses of the locals, a few cafes and taverns and then a few smaller accommodations that have sprung up in its southern part by the coast. And just in front of these villas is the organised part of the beach with sunbeds, umbrellas and a beach tavern.
Kritika Beach is long and stretches along the main road leading south from the capital city of Rhodes along the western coast. The road lies between the beach and the development, which can be uncomfortable. On the other hand, most of the visitors to the beach are tourists from other resorts, especially from the capital city of Rhodes and the neighbouring holiday resort of Ixia, who are looking for peace and privacy here. Most of Kritika Beach is unorganised and public.
The southern part of the beach connects seamlessly to the neighbouring Ixia Beach. In this area, the sea is beautifully clear, usually gently undulating in the morning and already with bigger waves in the afternoon.
