The small inland village of Aghios Isidoros is located in the central part of the Greek island of Rhodes at the foot of Mount Attavyros, about 64 km southwest of the capital city. The village is famous for the production of local quality products.
Aghios Isidoros is located in the interior of the island of Rhodes, between the other smaller villages of Siana, Istrios and Laerma. The village lies on the eastern slopes of Mount Attavyros, the highest mountain on Rhodes (1215 m above sea level). From the village of Aghios Isidoros, which is about 532 m above sea level, a trail leads to the top of Mt. Attavyros and hiking enthusiasts can make the journey up in about 2 hours.
Aghios Isidoros is a small and quiet village whose inhabitants focus on the production of local, high quality products. It is known primarily for the production of local wine and Souma wine spirit (which some liken to the traditional Greek drink ouzo), but you can also take away quality olive oil and natural honey from local beekeepers.
The centre of the village is a small square with several shops, taverns and cafes. The beautiful church of Agios Isidoros, decorated with unique frescoes inside, is also a symbol of the village.
