Haraki resort characteristics

The village of Haraki (sometimes also Charaki) is situated on the shore of the bay and is bordered by a beautiful colonnade along its entire length. Romantic souls in particular will dance here, as the colonnade offers a truly beautiful view - on one side the clear blue sea with a wide beach and on the other side lower apartments, often with a tavern or a bar on the ground floor and accommodation upstairs.

The character of a peaceful holiday resort is not disturbed by any large hotels, but by family-run guesthouses or individual apartments and rooms for rent. And don't be surprised if the resort doesn't look nearly as picturesque at first glance. You arrive here "from the back" and first see the fields and the backs of the houses. Only when you cross the first strip of buildings does the village open itself up and the best part is waiting for you on the shore of the bay.

Haraki Beach

The bay offers tourists a sandy beach about 250 m long, sometimes covered with fine pebbles. The beach is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas and thanks to the seaside colonnade you can reach all tourist facilities.

Just a short distance away is the beautiful beach of Agia Agatha, which is definitely worth a visit.

Tips for trips around Haraki

The dominant feature of the resort and a popular tourist destination are the ruins of the Johannite castle of Feraklos towering on a hill above the bay.

We can also recommend a visit to the original village of Lindos with its acropolis, which is on the UNESCO list of monuments (the resort of Lindos is about 13 km away in a southerly direction).

Who is Haraki suitable for?

Haraki does not attract crowds of tourists and it manages to retain its quieter and family atmosphere. The tranquillity, friendly people and beautiful beach are the main features of this resort. The taverns also offer plenty of Greek specialties and there is also a variety of seafood to choose from.
