Fira Beach

The beautiful little bay of Exo Gialos is located on the east coast of the Greek island of Santorini. It can be found about 3 km east of the main town of Fira, directly across the mainland.

Exo Gialos Beach is one of the closest beaches to the capital city of Fira and is also known locally as "Fira Beach". However, it is usually quite quiet and does not attract much tourist attention, probably because it is quite narrow.

The surface of the beach is black sand with pebbles and it is surrounded by beautiful rock formations, carved by years of natural influences. The contrast between the black sand and the clear blue sea only adds to the pleasant atmosphere of the place.

The main attraction of this beach is the modern Yalos beach bar and restaurant, which offers visitors beach service in addition to tasty snacks (often made from fresh sea catch) and refreshing cocktails. You can choose from sun loungers with parasols, as well as less traditional private shelters or hammocks for your lazy days. Bar Yalos also hosts unforgettable parties with a DJ.

There are no water sports in the area, but there is a small marina so you can watch the boats coming and going. Beautiful white swans are often seen here. If you want some peace and privacy, head down the beach away from the bar.
