Katharos Beach - Santorini Island
The large and beautiful, yet quiet Katharos Beach is located in the northwestern part of the Greek island of Santorini, about 13 km northwest of the capital city of Fira.
The beach is located near the port of Ammoudi and one of the most popular and beautiful resorts of the island - the town of Oia. It can be easily reached on foot, and it takes only a few minutes to walk from Oia. However, you can also get here by car (you have to leave it in the parking lot above the beach and walk down to the coast). Katharos Beach is often used by tourists staying in Oia.
Katharos is a quiet beach with dark pebbles and stones. The rocks, that are surrounding the coastline, are beautifully shaped by natural influences. The beach is not equipped with sunbeds or umbrellas, but there is a small tavern up above the beach. The place provides plenty of peace and privacy as well as a beautiful view.
