The picturesque Mesa Pigadia beach is located on the southern coast of the Greek island of Santorini, about 14 km southwest of the capital Fira. It is protected by high white rocks and is well hidden from the daily tourist traffic.
Mesa Pigadia is a smaller beach, the surface of which is mostly sand with pebbles, sometimes you can find larger rocks. It is surrounded by high, bright cliffs, which hide an interesting thing called "syrmata". These are structures built right in the rocks. The beach is partially organized, you can use the deck chairs and have a snack in the local taverna.
Mesa Pigadia beach is one of the quieter places on Santorini, probably because it is off the main road. It can also be reached by land, but for example by quad bike, as you will have to cover a distance of about 1 km off the beaten track. A more convenient way is to use boat transport, with regular boat services departing from the port of Akrotiri, for example.
Mesa Pigadia is located in the south of the island, west of the popular White Beach and Red Beach and in close proximity to the small Black Beach. Nearby you will also find interesting sights such as the Akrotiri Lighthouse and the important archaeological site of Akrotiri.
