Titans
In Greek mythology, the titan Iapetos was the son of Gaia (goddess of the earth) and Uranus (god of the sky). He was referred to as the titan of mortal life.
With Clymene he had four sons (titans), whose names were Prometheus, Epimetheus, Atlas and Menoitia. And because he was referred to as a mortal titan, his first two sons were also considered mortal.
Other sources state that he was also the father of the heroes Buphagus and Anchiale.
He sided with his brother (Kronos) during the battle between Kronos and Zeus. After the defeat of the Titans, he was thrown into Tartarus.
