Agios Nikolaos is a small sandy beach with rocky substrate located in the northern part of the Greek island of Zakynthos, about 32 km northwest of the capital Zante. It is located in the famous port of Agios Nikolaos.
Agios Nikolaos Beach is situated on the rocky north-eastern coast of Zakynthos and forms part of the harbour resort of the same name. The surface of the beach is coarse sand, but the substrate and the entrance to the sea are rocky and made of large pebbles. Agios Nikolaos beach is located in the middle of the harbour, close to a popular taverna and is equipped with several sunbeds.
More broadly, however, it may include individual beaches along the whole of the Agios Nikolaos resort, which stretches around the main road and surrounds the whole bay with the marina. The sandy stretch by the Madrakia Tavern, which is also called Madrakia Beach, is a particularly popular part of Agios Nikolaos. It is located in the southern part of the resort, below the harbour.
The port of Agios Nikolaos is especially important for the northern part of Zakynthos, where boats and boats sail to the most popular tourist attractions of the island, especially to the so-called blue caves and the famous Navagio beach with the wreck of a smuggler's ship. Ferries also leave from the port for the neighbouring Greek island of Kefalonia.
