The narrow sandy beach of Amboula is located on the eastern coast of the Greek island of Zakynthos, about 9 km northwest of the main town of Zante. The partially organized beach offers visitors sunbeds and umbrellas as well as a beautiful view of the Ionian Sea.
Amboula (or Ampoula) beach is a quiet beach, located away from the busy holiday resorts of the island and is not crowded. It is mostly visited by tourists staying in the nearby apartments or the nearby resorts of Tragaki and Drosia. The livelier resort of Tsilivi lies about 3 km to the southeast.
Amboula beach is a narrow, mostly sandy beach, but at the entrance to the sea there are also larger pebbles that make it difficult to walk into the water. For this reason, piers have been created here, which allow you to walk a little further into the sea, where the sandy bottom is already clean. The sea here is clear. The surrounding greenery also contributes to making Amboula Beach a pleasant place to relax. From the sun loungers, visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of the Ionian Sea in the distance and, in good weather, they can also observe nearby Kefalonia.
Amboula is one of the partially organised beaches and visitors can rent sunbeds and umbrellas (including toilet facilities) and enjoy a range of refreshments. Above the beach there is a fish tavern, which also functions as a beach bar with traditional fast food, and a car park.
Amboula beach is in the company of other smaller beaches, with the pleasant sandy beaches of Gaidaros and Bouka nearby to the south and the small sandy beach of Drosia to the north.
