Banana Beach is located on the southeastern coast of Zakynthos, in the area of Ano Vassilikos, which forms part of the popular tourist resort of Vassilikos.Banana beach is one of the largest and longest beaches on the island of Zakynthos, and according to popularity charts, one of the most beautiful. Its shape is said to resemble a banana.

The surface of the beach is made up of wonderfully fine sand, which can also be very hot in the summer months. The sand also covers the seabed, and thanks to the gradual entry into the water, families with children also like to come here. The golden sand, the crystal clear sea and the surrounding greenery give the beach a very pleasant appearance and the surrounding hills also add a bit of wildness.

Banana Beach is one of the organised beaches. Visitors can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, and of course there are toilets, showers and changing rooms. There are a number of beach bars nearby offering light snacks and cold drinks, and there are also several hotels and restaurants towards the centre of Ano Vassilikos.

The busiest part of Banana beach is the central part, where all the tourist facilities are located and there is also a water sports facility. For example, parasailing is a very popular activity, which attracts even younger people. In addition, the disco bars open after dark, making Banana Beach lively even at night. The outer parts of the beach are much quieter.

Banana beach is easily accessible, with a turn off the main road between Argassi and Vassilikos leading down to Banana beach. There are plenty of parking spaces.

There are several beautiful beaches in the area around Vassilikos . To the north, Banana Beach is adjacent to the larger sand and shingle beach of Spanzia (or Spianza), which is very similar in type - surrounded by lush green nature and very well equipped for tourism. On the other hand, if you head south, you can visit, for example, the small and pleasant sandy beach of Plaka or the larger and very well organised sandy beach of Agios Nikolaos (Vassilikos).
