The pebble and partly sandy beach of Keri is located in the southern part of the Greek island of Zakynthos, in the bay of Laganas. It is located about 18 km southwest of the main town of Zante and includes the port of Keri.
The relatively long but narrow Keri beach is located at the very western end of the vast Laganas bay, adjacent to the tourist resort of the same name, Limni Keri. Limni Keri is a small and peaceful holiday resort, situated around the now dried up Lake Keri, and still retains its traditional way of life of farming, raising domestic animals and fishing, alongside its expanding tourist services.
Keri beach is very diverse. In some parts it is very narrow, in others it is wider, mostly covered with pebbles and rocks, but there are also places of pure sand. However, it is beautifully sandy at the entrance to the sea and on the seabed for almost its entire length, so even families with children can enjoy the beach. The beach is surrounded by lush greenery, providing visitors with natural shade. Keri Beach has also been awarded the Blue Flag for its cleanliness and ecology.
Keri Beach is lined with bars, cafes and tavernas, with sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent. There is also a diving school and a dive equipment rental service, as the area around Keri is a renowned diving and snorkelling spot. The interesting rock formations and clear sea make the area absolutely ideal for these water sports, especially around the southern tip of Keri, where the Keri Caves and the white rocks of Myzithres are located. The sea here is deeper than in Laganas or Kalamaki, for example.
The resort of Limni Keri includes the important port of Keri, from where all kinds of boats, boats and boats set sail for cruises to the most interesting places around the coast of Zakynthos. You can take part in organised excursions, but you can also hire a boat and set off on your own. One of these famous places is the so-called "turtle" island of Marathonisi, which is part of the Zakynthos Marine Park and has a very good view from Keri beach. Tourists head to Marathonisi Island for its beautiful sandy beaches (Marathonisi Beach) and the chance to see the protected turtle Caretta Caretta with their own eyes.
The beach is well signposted, with parking available.
