Limnionas (or Porto Limnionas) is not so much a beach as a rocky cove where you can dive right off the rocks. Thanks to the deep, crystal clear water, the site offers a breathtaking spectacle of reefs and caves. During the main tourist season, the local diving centre is open. Porto Limnionas is ideal for diving and snorkelling.

There is a tavern on the cliff above the bay, which, in addition to refreshments, also offers sunbeds and parasols for rent (next to the tavern). Otherwise, visitors to Limnionas stay variously on rock platforms or landscaped terraces.

The bay is well known, but due to less access to the sea, fewer places to lie down and also the relatively long distance from the tourist resorts, it is not so touristy. In recent years, however, increased tourism has also been experienced here and in the main summer season the beach can be very crowded (due to the limited space for resting and lying down). The nearby beach of Porto Roxa tends to be quieter.

Porto Limnionas beach can be reached by road from the nearest village, Agios Leon, which is about 6 km northeast of here. You'll reach the car park above Limnionas Bay and then walk further along a path in the cliffs, with beautiful views across the bay down to the coast.

Due to the deep water and the more difficult descent to the sea, we do not recommend the site for people with reduced mobility or families with young children. However, Porto Limnionas is a very beautiful bay and well worth a visit. Swimming around the caves and diving in the clear water here is a great experience.
