Porto Roxa Beach - Zakynthos island

Porto Roxa

The rocky beach of Porto Roxa is located off the west coast of the Greek island of Zakynthos, about 28 km west of the capital Zante. From the beach there is a beautiful view of the sunset, which is further enhanced by the possibility of watching it from the beach beds located on the rocky shore.

Zakynthos, Porto Roxa on the map Google maps

Porto Roxa is a very specific beach, beautiful, rocky and with small lagoons of water that form in its uneven surface. From the beach, the entrance to the sea is very difficult, so a footbridge anchored in the rocks was built to make it a little easier to enter the water. We still recommend wearing water shoes, as the coastline is rocky and sharp. On the other hand, it is these underwater rocks and the crystal clear sea that attract snorkelling and diving enthusiasts.

Porto Roxa beach is an organised beach, there is a car park, several tavernas and sunbeds with umbrellas and beautiful beach beds. Despite this, Porto Roxa beach is peaceful and not overcrowded. In recent years, the nearby Porto Limnionas beach, for example, a rocky cove with cliffs and caves and crystal clear sea, has attracted more tourist interest.

Porto Roxa beach also has its own small rocky cove, which is a popular local tourist attraction. The sea is accessed by steps and the more adventurous can jump off a bridge located about 4 metres above sea level. There are several sea caves and clear water in the bay.
