The small mountain village of Agalas is situated off the western coast of Zakynthos, on the slopes of the hills facing the Ionian Sea. It offers breathtaking views of sunsets and seascapes. It is also set in a very picturesque setting of surrounding pine forests and olive groves.

Agalas is a traditional village with old stone houses and narrow streets that lives its own peaceful life. In the village there is the church of Agalas with its old bell tower and next to it stands a small blue building, which is the local art gallery and museum, displaying the works of local artist.

To the west of the village, tourists can visit an interesting natural phenomenon known as the Damianos Cave. This is a two-storey cave full of stalactites and stalagmites, which also has two large entrances visible from afar. Another popular tourist stop in the Agalas area (about 1.5 km south of the village) is the so-called Andronios Wells. Twelve stone wells dating back to the 15th century, all built in the traditional Venetian style and still functional.

The village of Agalas is relatively well hidden behind high hills and dense forests, and therefore not many tourists come here. There are several tavernas and accommodation available, but the village is not a tourist hotspot. It is a very quiet place, suitable for walking around the area and exploring the local natural attractions.
