Tsilivi Tourist Resort

The tourist resort of Tsilivi is currently one of the most popular locations on the island of Zakynthos. However, the relatively busy resort with its many shops, tavernas and bars still retains its laid-back atmosphere, adjacent to a beautiful sandy beach and surrounded by peaceful nature, which helps the area retain its classic Greek character. Sometimes the name Planos is also used instead of Tsilivi (usually the northern or western part of Tsilivi is referred to as Planos, but it is common for these names to be used interchangeably).

The holiday resort of Tsilivi is situated off the east coast of Zakynthos, just 6 km from the capital of Zakynthos, and is thus perfectly situated for those who would like to get to know the capital of Zante with its beautiful sights, culture and entertainment and shops. At the same time, it is located in an already quieter area, with the smaller surrounding villages of Planos, Tragaki or Sarakinado.

Tsilivi is a fully equipped tourist resort with accommodation, shops, restaurants and bars. There are car rental services, ATMs, a pharmacy and a doctor is usually available during the high season. Tourists can choose from several beautiful hotels, private apartments and luxury villas. Tsilivi is one of the busier resorts on Zakynthos, with several bars in the centre of the resort, but avid nightlife lovers head from the resort mainly to the nearby town of Zakynthos or the lively resort of Laganas.

In the north-western part of the resort lies Tsilivi Water Park, a popular water park with many slides, water slides and water play features for children and adults. For lovers of this fun, we can also recommend the larger Zante Water Village water park near the village of Sarakinado (about 7 km southwest of Tsilivi). Another very popular attraction in Tsilivi is the Fantasy Mini Golf, an unusual and interesting mini golf course with a flowing river and green features.

Tsilivi beach and other nearby beaches

The holiday resort of Tsilivi is adjacent to the more than 600 m long, sandy to sand and shingle beach of Tsilivi. Not only families with children appreciate the azure sea and the gradual entry into the water. Tsilivi Beach is regularly awarded the EU Blue Flag for its cleanliness, facilities and water quality. Tsilivi Beach is organised, with excellent tourist facilities and a wide range of water sports. There are also several beach bars and taverns in the vicinity. The northern half of Tsilivi Beach is sometimes also referred to separately as Planos Beach.

The northern end of Tsilivi Beach (or Planos Beach) is bordered by the so-called Cape Gaidaros, a romantic place with a small harbour with fishing boats and an old Venetian watchtower with a unique pyramidal roof.

Crossing Cape Gaidaros, to the north of Tsilivi beach is the smaller sandy beach of Bouka, with sun loungers and parasols and a gentle entrance to the sea. There are also a few traditional tavernas around the beach, but there are no water sports and overall Bouka Beach is one of the quietest and uncrowded places. Further north along the eastern coast of the island you will reach another sandy beach, Gaidaros. There is a beach bar of the same name, which includes several sunbeds and umbrellas.

The holiday resort of Tsilivi is popular with tourists of all ages. The main advantages of this location are the pleasant sandy beach with azure sea, the very good tourist facilities of the resort and the proximity to the capital Zante. In addition, families with children appreciate the availability of medical care, the gradual entrance to the sea and the quiet surroundings of the resort. The surrounding olive groves and vineyards are ideal for walks, bicycles can also be rented or horse riding can be arranged.

The tourist resort of Tsilivi is located about 9 km from Zakynthos airport and about 5 km from the capital of Zakynthos. The main town is accessible from Tsilivi by local bus service.
